In 2015, WLDN set up Les Veilleurs d’Haguenau, organized to mark the town’s 900th anniversary. For 6 months, the inhabitants of Haguenau will keep watch at the same time as the inhabitants of Freiburg, on the other side of the border in Germany.

The shelter, designed by Benjamin Tovo, is installed on the roof of a former barracks in Haguenau’s Rue Thurot. The barracks in the Quartier Thurot had been unused since 2004, at the time being the subject of a major urban project to convert it into an eco-neighborhood.
