Upon its creation in 1998, Icon was produced by Velvet, co-produced by the Ministry of the French Community of Wallonia-Brussels, Charleroi/Danses (Belgium), and the CCN du Havre as part of the accueil/studio program. It was also supported by the Wallonia-Brussels Theatre Agency, the CGRI, and the SACD.
